Galliker Future Day 2025 - A day full of discoveries and zest for action

Curiosity, enthusiasm and plenty of energy - that was once again the hallmark of this year's Galliker Future Day. A total of 80 children took the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of the fascinating Galliker world. Of these, 58 opted for the specially organized morning programme before accompanying their caregivers in the afternoon. The remaining 22 chose to spend the whole day with their caregiver.

Early in the morning, Altishofen was already a hive of activity: The 58 children ate breakfast together before taking part in a guided tour of the company. They explored the metalworking shop, the bike center and the administration and got a first impression of the diversity of the departments at Galliker.

After this exciting introduction, the students moved on to their individually chosen career areas. Depending on their interests, they immersed themselves in a specialist area and experienced at first hand how varied and practical the work in these professional fields is.

Logistics, Transport & Driver Academy

In the areas of logistics and road transport, the children were able to take the wheel themselves - both of trucks and cars - and experience first-hand what responsibility behind the wheel feels like. During a tour of Logistics Centers 1, 2 and 3, they were also given an insight into the huge flow of goods that are moved every day at Galliker.

Afterwards, they were able to demonstrate their dexterity by putting together their own "goodie bag" with the order picking trolley. To top it all off, they made an energy wind turbine - as a memento of an eventful morning at a logistics company that deals intensively with the topic of sustainability.

All 80 children received a "goodie bag" at the end of the day - only the participants of the Logistics, Transport & Driver Academy were allowed to assemble their own.

Technical Academy

For the young talents interested in the professions of mechanic or vehicle fitter, things got really hands-on: the talents built truck models together, practiced welding and learned how an electrical circuit works. Where sparks fly, ideas are born - and some discovered that technology is not only exciting, but can also be creative.

Pupils who chose the area of plant maintenance were allowed to look over the shoulders of the professionals all morning - or rather: lend a hand. Together with the operating staff, they were out and about throughout the site to experience the daily maintenance tasks. Whether checking, repairing or maintaining - no two days are the same, and that's what made the insight so exciting.

CarroLack Academy

Things got colorful for those interested in the professions of bodywork tinsmith and bodywork painter! Under expert guidance, they sanded, labeled and painted truck models - in Galliker red, of course. Then came the finishing touches: the lettering in black and orange was carefully placed. At the end, the little creators proudly held their own work in their hands - a real memento of their first "working day" at Galliker.

On Future Day, all the children were given an authentic insight into the many facets of the transport and logistics industry - and were able to experience for themselves how varied and exciting the activities at Galliker are.

Whether driving, painting, welding or order picking - the enthusiasm was palpable everywhere.

Rolf Galliker, Chairman of the Board of Directors and COO, put it in a nutshell:

"Every year, it's great to see the children participating with open eyes and genuine interest. Days like this arouse curiosity, create understanding - and perhaps even initial plans for the future."
