Learning, growing and implementing together

At the Galliker IT Academy, our apprentices are given the opportunity to acquire practical knowledge, implement exciting projects and experience real teamwork over and above the traditional training routine. The aim is to promote professional and personal skills and optimally prepare apprentices for their professional future.

Introduction for new apprentices

To ensure a successful start, we have developed a structured induction program for the first few weeks. This includes
Introduction for new apprentices
  • Getting to know the team and tour of the IT rooms
  • Commissioning of laptop and working environment
  • Introduction to the learner roles
  • GAF training (Galliker Agile Framework) on agile working methods
  • Introduction to IT infrastructure and helpdesk
  • Practical exercises to learn the basics of the respective areas

This allows the new apprentices to grow into their tasks step by step.

Exciting projects

Every year, our IT Academy works on a major project in which all apprentices - application developers, platform developers, mediamatics specialists and, in future, building IT specialists and ICT experts - are involved. They learn about cross-team collaboration, practise agile working methods and develop solutions that create real added value. Examples include the development of apps, the implementation of interactive tools or working with innovative technologies such as 3D printing.

Practical tasks in the training environment

In addition to the regular training program, the Academy offers many special assignments:

Learners actively participate in agile work processes. They learn how to divide tasks into sprints, how to prioritize together and how to regularly reflect on progress.

In special exercises, students set up networks independently, set up systems and thus understand the basics of modern IT infrastructures.

Whether error analysis, optimization of existing applications or the creation of new programs - the learners train their skills directly using practical examples.

To promote communication and presentation skills, students regularly present their work and receive constructive feedback.

In our own laboratory (LAB), students experiment with new technologies such as 3D printing and gain insights into the combination of IT and modern production methods.

Special highlight

A real highlight of the IT Academy is its own LAB environment. Here, students have the opportunity to try out new technologies, develop their own ideas and deepen their knowledge in a practical way - without the pressure of day-to-day business. Whether testing new software, setting up networks or trying out innovative tools such as 3D printing - the LAB environment offers space for creativity and experimentation.

In addition, learners work according to the Galliker Agile Framework (GAF), which shapes the way Galliker IT works. With bi-weekly meetings, sprint planning and clearly defined goals, students learn how modern project work works. Both the annual goals of the apprentices and the individual goals of the respective departments are taken into account.

In this way, apprentices experience first-hand how closely training, agile methods and real company projects are linked and are optimally prepared to successfully shape their role in a dynamic IT world.
