Solar energy for our Melzo branch in Italy

Since spring 2023, we have been producing our own green and sustainably produced solar power with our own photovoltaic system on the roof of our logistics center in Melzo (IT).

The system consists of 550 photovoltaic modules on an area of 935 m2 and with this size achieves an annual electricity production of 450 MWh in sunny Italy, which corresponds to the average electricity consumption of 95 single-family homes.

With this further expansion step, the company Galliker now has a total of 18 photovoltaic systems in operation across all branch locations and, after Liège (BE), is now also setting standards in the field of solar power at international locations with its second system abroad. The annual electricity production of all 18 photovoltaic systems now amounts to more than 14,000 MWh, which corresponds to the electricity requirements of almost 3,000 households.
