Galliker Green Logistics Day

On Tuesday, September 8, 2020, Galliker presented its alternative transport and logistics solutions and its intentions for a sustainable future to an interested audience at the first Galliker Green Logistics Day.

Galliker Green Logistics Day

Among other things, the first series-produced electric truck, a Volvo FL Electric and the Hyundai H2 Xcient, the new star of the fleet, the truck with electric hydrogen drive, were on display.

To mark the occasion, Galliker has reformulated its values and targets for actively contributing to the reduction of harmful effects on the environment.

These binding targets include

  • by 2021, all buildings will be equipped exclusively with LED lighting systems
  • by 2022, all diesel trucks will comply with the strictest EURO 6 emissions standard
  • at least 30 vehicles with alternative drive systems will be in use by the end of 2022
  • from 2030, city centers (City Logistics) will be supplied 100% CO2-neutral
  • and more to come

All of the efforts summarized under Galliker Green Logistics are published openly and transparently on a webpage.

The Galliker Green Day provided an opportunity to discuss the many concepts and systems already in use. Galliker has been focusing on green logistics for years. The company has been combining road and rail transport since 1995. This distribution of goods via the company's own network with decentralized branches allows goods flows to be bundled more efficiently. This leads to fewer journeys and consequently to a significant reduction in CO2 emissions. In addition, Galliker has installed photovoltaic systems on all new buildings over the past ten years, which could supply around 1860 single-family homes with electricity.

The great interest in the topics surrounding green logistics showed in an exemplary manner that sustainability affects us all personally and that its dynamics are developing rapidly. From now on, Galliker intends to play a significantly more active role in this important and correct direction.
