eVitos in use for Car Logistics

Car Logistics is committed to sustainability - not only in terms of e-car transporters or solar systems, but also in terms of electric vehicles for passenger transportation on our own premises. Our Galliker jockey team, which is responsible for moving customer vehicles (new and used cars) from A to B on the Galliker site - be it from vehicle preparation to loading, to the car wash or other movements - are now being transported from A to B using two eVitos, among other things. The new vehicles were put into operation at the end of July and underline our commitment to sustainable development.

Deployment in Altishofen and the surrounding area
The E-Vito "Bus 2" shown in the photo serves the external warehouses around Altishofen, from Reiden to Schachen, with Hugo Martins and his team. The team covers 40,000 kilometers a year, proving the practicality of the new electric vehicles.

Flexible use at the Car Terminal
The second electric bus, our "Bus 5", is used at the Car Terminal and is managed by Stephan Lienhard. With an area of operation that includes our Car Terminal, Vehicle Logistics Center, Logistics Center 4 and the Car House, this E-Vito achieves an annual mileage of around 20,000 kilometers.

Electric use thanks to technological advances
Car Logistics carried out initial tests with electric buses several years ago, but these failed due to the constant "stop-and-go" operation and the immature battery technology at the time. Now we are ready and have found a suitable solution for our internal employee transportation.

"It's great to see how the technology has improved in recent years and how we are increasingly able to use the innovations locally in our day-to-day operations."

- Roland Heiniger, who is helping to drive development as Head of PDI / Carolack.
