Volvo Trucks began series production of the two electric trucks Volvo FL Electric and Volvo FE Electric not so long ago. Although the first vehicles had already been delivered, they were from a pre-series. On January 30, 2020, the new vehicle was handed over to Galliker in the presence of representatives from Volvo Trucks and the charging station manufacturer ABB.

For Galliker, the delivery of the first Volvo FL Electric is an important step towards green logistics. The entry into electromobility marks another milestone for sustainable logistics.

Quiet and stress-free on the road

The new Volvo FL Electric from Galliker Transport AG is a two-axle vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of 16.7 tons and is specially designed for urban delivery traffic. The electric motor has a maximum output of 185 kW and a continuous output of 130 kW. The Volvo FL Electric is charged either with alternating current (AC) and a charging capacity of up to 22 kW or via direct current fast charging (DC) with up to 150 kW. Customers determine the battery capacity themselves by selecting the number of lithium-ion battery packs. It is between 100 and 300 kWh, so that ranges of 100 to 300 kilometers can be achieved.

The electric trucks from Volvo Trucks make life easier for drivers. Noise and vibrations in the cab are significantly lower than with diesel engines. Driving is quiet and stress-free. In addition, an electric motor delivers its maximum torque straight away, which enables smooth power delivery - ideal for constant stopping and starting in urban traffic.
