With "Green Logistics by Galliker", the family-owned company is living up to its responsibility for the environment and society and has set itself ambitious targets: by 2022, 100% of vehicles should comply with the EURO 6 emissions standard and at least 45 vehicles with alternative drive systems should be represented in the entire fleet. This target was achieved - since then, the fleet has been expanded step by step in order to reach the next fleet milestone: 50% of the fleet is to be based on an alternative drive system by 2040.
Complex logistics and ecological goals require high standards
In order to reconcile the complexity of logistics, the clocked journeys in day-to-day transportation and the environmental requirements, the vehicles must meet high standards to even be considered for the Galliker fleet. One of these absolutely suitable vehicles is the Volvo FM Electric - a vehicle with a battery capacity of 540 kWh and a range of around 300 kilometers. Two new Volvo FM Electric vehicles found their way into the fleet at the Galliker site in Pfungen (ZH), where they are mainly used for journeys in the Zurich conurbation - in addition, the branch also received a new fast charging station with 384 kWh charging capacity, which was put into operation at the same time as the vehicles. An important expansion of the national Galliker charging network.
With the two new electric trucks, the alternatively powered commercial vehicle fleet now comprises 31 electric trucks, 6 hydrogen trucks, 4 electric car transporters and 1 electric transporter (3.5t). Each new vehicle is therefore an important step in the overall strategy - and the current result is once again confirmation that the direction taken four years ago was the right one.
